This functional casserole is a joy to bake and serve in. I love this gloss white glaze. It is easy to clean and the cobalt and turquoise blue decoration always shows through clearly. The crawdad, (or lobster to sea living folks) is brushed on freely and captures the feisty crustacean with folksy elegance!.
The rolled decorative side and lid handles project well for easy handling when hot. The simple incised swipes on the side add some texture and color without competing with the lid design.
At 5.5 inches to top of lid and 8 inches wide this holds about 2-3/4 quarts in volume.
I sell many of these for wedding gifts, or just for baking your special dish for a crowd. I pull it out of the oven hot and wrap it in a bath towel. It will stay warm for an hour as you head to a potluck! Hardy stoneware but still put it in the oven at room temperature and heat. Dishwasher, food, and microwave safe.
